Nac202 nap200 nacps connection problem

So, I’ve taken the plunge and gone from a Nait xs/flatcap to a nac202/nap200/nacps. Now riping out what hair I’ve got left as I’ve connected them up ( several times) and I’m still getting a flashing mute button. I’ve attached photos of how it’s connected now. The connector into the nap200 doesn’t seem to push all the way down like the connectors to the nac202 but it does push in and I get a couple of turns on the screw cap. Also I have a narcos 4 remote (i think) which is compatible with the nac but doesn’t seem to do anything.

Please, please please help before I crack up completely

Pull the paddle link plug out of Link 1 socket. It shouldn’t be there when you have the NAPSC plugged in. Power down everything first.

Indeed. That’s the answer.

All sorted, thank you. My god, didn’t expect the result tho.

Excellent. In the future, think about a Hicap to power the 202’s analogue parts. It makes a huge difference. The 202/200 is a really nice amplifier.

Hope you are happy so far @Simon5, the 202/200 is a great combo. If I were you, I’d try the FlatCap XS with the 202.

I second that, dual voltage rails should be an improvement, they’ll need to find a SNAIC 5 cable though.

Having previously had a 200/202, the addition of a power supply really gives a further uplift. Be careful; you might catch the upgradeitus syndrome. I am now using a 282/250DR along with suitable power supplies.

Just my personal opinion (having had the combo twice): before adding a HiCap because there’s an empty socket and the Book says so, enjoy bare 202/200 for a while and make sure that there is something missing…
I’ve often compared with/without external power supply and bare pre/power have a nimble, liquid quality that sometimes a muscular PSU such as a HiCap can spoil a little in favor of other aspects. I’ve had many HiCaps, a few SNAPS, FlatCaps of any kind including a DR-ed one, a SuperCap; and the old SNAPS still occupies the soft spot for me. But my recent NAC62/NAP90 with no power supply was perfectly satisfying.
Best,
M
