Is there a way of maybe softening the cables to make them more flexible so they can be routed differently.
Mrs P says they are in the way where they are. ![]()

Suggesting Mrs P needs a new hairdo may not be the best way forward. ![]()
I got my a5 in a coil, I laid it outside in the sun for about 5hrs,
Very flexible but short working time before it goes hard again,
Yes, the hairdryer on its hot setting is the answer. Really heat it up and then bend it. You can form tight 90° bends that fit neatly around both internal and external corners.
Easy job, simply upgrade with Kudos KS-1

Do the bends stay permanently?

They will stay in place for ages, but can be removed by bending the cables straight again.

The hairdryer method is fine but I feel my dealers advise was even better.
“Be brutal with it, you won’t harm it”. This course of action worked for me in a situation that required 4 bends in one length & two in the other.
It then holds its shape indefinitely. As another poster has already said, if you ever need to to reconfigure it, just re-bend as required.
…I would have thought that this approach would break some of the strands?
Why should it? The strands are very thin & flexible individually &, I would think, almost impossible to break by simply bending.
If you don’t know what you are doing I suspect that it would be far easier to turn the cable into a sticky mess if you overdo the hairdryer treatment.
I just bend it by hand, I haven’t found it necessary to apply heat. The bends stay in place.
Thanks everyone. I will try the bending method.
