Naim announcement tonight?

Where did I suggest they should have released all those products since the SN3 and XS3?

I apologize for sounding like Iā€™m dumping on Naim. I simply love the music their products make and hope they donā€™t lose sight of their core mission which is quality music in the home.

We can assume at least 10% of those 150 super car persons liked these news so Naim will have 15 more fans. Success!

Not sure where you are seeing this, as it isnā€™t apparent to me.
Naims residuals have to be about best in class compared with other manufacturers.
Long product lifecycles and continued serviceability holds them high.

Will the next audio device from Naim fitted with a Gearstick or is it an Automatic?

Nova, Star, Atom?

Honestly, when is the last time Naim rolled out something that got music lovers excited other than SN3 and XS3 with internal phono stage? The 272?

I know many many music lovers, few of them have heard of Naim but one of them has a Muso and loves it.

My best friend listens to a lot more music since she got her Qb2. Then there is the Uniti range, Atom and Nova especially excite music lovers. Then the new streamers, ND5XS2, NDX2 and ND555 are all giving people loads of music pleasure as we can see here. It looks to me as though theyā€™re producing a lot of hits with music lovers.

Ummm, In high-fi terms wasnā€™t that both extremely recent and a very big deal? You make it sound like it was a lifetime ago and a minor release.

Over 620 posts about a tweet. Thatā€™s user engagement!

@charlie.henderson the large number of posts are not really a sign of user engagement, maybe the excitement of the PR head was somewhat understandable, maybe she should just keep in mind that quite a few Naim fans are waiting and ā€œlosing Sleepā€ (please see other thread :joy:) over the future of the 272.

It doesnā€™t affect me personally as I have a 282 and somewhat pleased with it (thereā€™s always a 252 or a 552) ā€¦ and moved on from Naim sources to Chord DAC sources and use a google chrome cast audio as a streamerā€¦

So why my post to you, it would be much appreciated if the pre-announcements are stopped, just announce whatever you need to on the day, itā€™s really becoming a waste of our timeā€¦ Simple.

While it has been clarified this was not a Naim announcement and was done form the PR head tweet, we have had similar pre-announcements before, and overall I would rather just read the news when it is news, and donā€™t partcilularly want any more pre-announcementā€¦

PR does its job shocker!

It is the modern way. Tweets and social media.

I bet you still use a needle in your gramophone.

I really enjoyed it, great examples of humour. The outcome was a bit unexpected, but that made it hilarious - in a good way - to me. I did choose not to wait until 0:00 local time, I saw it the morning after.

context and sensitivity is important - itā€™s a product that is simply not relevant to Naim fans.

the same fans who are waiting anxiously for software updates on their new (not cheap) streamers and an updated 272.

Even though I stay away from Naim streamers and 272 type of products, I canā€™t say that I am convinced that the resources allocated to the electric car stereo was really good timing.

I have had the good luck to try Linn Streamers and their software seems to work pretty robustly. Something they got right 10 years ago.

Not to the current ones, or just those in here?

PR is about extending your market. I get that may not please everyone, but you canā€™t fault the PR dept or person for doing their job.

Looking back the tweet looks reasonable enough if you work at Naim and donā€™t live on the forum, like I do.

These 150 ā€œin carā€ systems might each be Ā£10k+ so about Ā£1.5+ million worth of incremental business. It also puts Naim in the specialist Auto press to get noticed by consumers with high disposable incomes who might be new customers for Naim in the future. If you are looking for a PR story this is a goldmine in the outside world and Clareā€™s tweet is probably about right.

Personally I find it easy to forget how exclusive Naim are. A Classic entry system ND5 XS2/202/200 with a Ā£1k budget for speakers is Ā£8,147. This is more than most people would ever dream of spending to listen to Spotify.

Its also interesting that this thread now has just over 150 users. i.e. only just exceeded the number of $2.5 million cars for sale.

No problem with the new product.

Just saying about pre announcementsā€¦

Sorry, I went off a bit.

I think perspective is needed. The extended car audio business reveal is simply not relevant to most of us. Thatā€™s perfectly fine. No crime was committed. Itā€™s not like Naim shot your dog.

Actually it gave me time to listen to John Devore (Devore Fidelity, the speaker maker) on his Youtube-channel which was more interesting. Nice music tips and he also talked about the EMT-preamp he owns with a very interesting RIAA-section and his collection of audio cassettes and a few recorders.

The world is still missing an audio cassette machine that fit in a standard Fraim height. Maybe with Pininfarina-design. Ask him!
