Naim App on latest MacOs

I updated my macbook Air to the latest Sequoia 15.3 the other day and now notice the app cant see my NDX2, I tried setting it up as a new device, rebooting etc etc but no joy. I realise the app is designed for ipad but it did work ok on the macbook, anyone else have this issue?

Just updated my M1 MacBook to Sequoia 15.3 and Focal/Naim app found my Atom, QB1 and QB2 as soon as I opened it.

This may not help, but I did the same with our ND5xs2 and all is great

It normally helps to reboot router, NDX2 and switches if any and start fresh. I’m running the latest macos on macbook air M1 and have no issues.

A bit off the wall, but are you running any AV or Firewall, including Apple’s own, on your Mac?

nope, it was fine but stopped working after update

OK, with the last few releases, Apple have changed how things work from one release to the next - not entirely helpful eh? Do stop me if I’m teaching you to suck eggs. :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:.

The only thing I can suggest is to find the internal Apple firewall, search in Settings, and, temporarily, disable it and recheck communications to the NDX2. If that works, you’ll have to set up a firewall rule to allow said communications.

Hope this helps,

checked the firewall - it’s off, seems to be the default

Oooh err then, apologies but I’m stumped.

I assume you only have the one Mac, ie not a second, as yet preferably not updated, to test with, or perhaps borrow to do so?

Sorry I can’t help more,

Under Privacy and Security in settings, ensure that “Focal & Naim” is enabled for:

  • Location Services
  • Bluetooth (may not be needed)
  • Local network

Update on this, it’s now working, Focal/Naim App needs to be enabled in Local Network settings and likewise Bluetooth. It appears they both defaulted to Off when I updated the software which is odd. Thanks for the suggestions @GadgetMan
