I have the opportunity to purchase the below from a relative who has decided they wish to downside to a smaller property. Due to this they have have given me first refusal. I was wondering if i could ask for peoples thoughts on whether the price is correct and if these audio items still compete with today’s audio products available on the market. I was looking to purchase an amp before I was offered this Naim bundle. The amps I was looking at were an Arcam A25+, Rega Elex Mk4, Rega Elicit mk5 or a Naim Nait Xs3.
The Naim bundle is as below, I believe they are the ‘Olive’ series.
• CD player Naim CDi
• Power Amp Naim NAP 180 - serviced at Naim this month
• Pre Amp Naim NAC 82 - serviced at Naim this month
• Power supply Naim Hi Cap - serviced at Naim this month
• Speakers Naim SBL Mk2
• Inter connects - mixture of Naim and Chord uncertain of model number
• Speaker cables are Chord Shawline uncertain of model number
It’s great that the amp has been serviced. Just be aware that if the CD player fails it may not be serviceable depending on the fault.
Make sure that you understand how to pack, move and set up the speakers properly and without damaging them as it is a little complicated if you are unaware of what is required.
Looks like an amazing deal. The amp/power supply and pre amp would be a great base for a system that will give you a great sound for years to come .
If you don’t need a CD player, then you might sell it on and consider adding a streamer to bring it up to date. As all that gear has been serviced, then that might suggest it’s all been looked after. If you can fit the speakers in a suitable position in your house, then perhaps pay a naim dealer to fit them for you. Or sell them on
