Naim Chrome Bumper

Our 135s benefit greatly from a service after 6-7 years, so on that basis I’d have the 250 done as well now.

Our 32.5 was on its knees after 16 years without a service (according to Sheila when she ran Naim’s Service Dept.). The hicap needs one after about 8 years too.

YMMV but it may not…

Best regards, BF

yes I think probably to get the 250 done with the 32.5/hicap. I than have an equal starting point.

I think I may be becoming obsessive. Having seen the what’s inside post I now rarher fancy a nat 101/snaps to complete my old skool cb look.
There doesn’t seem to be any on the usual sites. Were they fairly rare?

Updated Nait 2 CB picture temporary main setup but sounds mighty fine.

I keep wondering about a tuner then stop and wonder for how much longer we’ll have FM.

I don’t believe there’s a plan to shut it down (from memory there was one but it was withdrawn). I suspect it happens in the next 20 years.

I think this is just my semi autistic collecting thing clicking in. I just want the look

If the fm tuner does become obsolete I can always slide a sqb innards or similar from a dac into the space.

I like your thinking. A NAT101 is being offered in the UK on a certain well-known auction site. If I lived in a country that offered even the slightest long-term chance that it would be a viable way to enjoy radio, I would be all over it in a moment. I hasten to add, I have no connection to the seller or the site itself.

CB is a slippery slope and I am squealing all the way. I just wish it would not distract me from putting the funds aside for a 252 or 552.

That nat 01 is a tad pricey though. It also doesn’t have the essential plastic bottle tuning dial :-).

The cb kit is a bit of a bargain though. Hicap/32.5/250 plus service is going to run out around 2400 uk pounds.
The sc/252/250-2 plus service is going to be around 7k !

The box is aluminium (bare) on the bumper. Metal polish for high end autos, boats or aeroplanes will dress the edge up.

Gary, I thought all your CB gear was gone! Thankfully I was under a false impression. Looks fantastic. Bet it sounds amazing too.

Ha no, i keep a few bits in rotation. Nait 5, Nait1 and UQ2. Yes the Nait 1 is silly good with both the CDS3 and LP12 with Vertere stage.

Just got the NAC 74 which with the NAP 140 and Hi-Cap completes my journey. Thought of getting a Nait but FM radio has been trumped by streaming.

Just received a NAP110 which needs some attention as the 24V part has exploded…
BDY56, caps from 1979… serial is 0749, seems to be a very old version !

Of course ! there is no way to plug this anywhere

Worth fixing though as the 110 a good amp. It probably looks a lot worse than appears as Ive repaired all manner of dead electrical stuff in the past and it usually looks terrible.

But never got to the cause of the 600Amp breaker that would trip off in the triangle
