Ive been offered a NAIM DAC V1…problem is it’d be a buy blind deal (£650)…is it old hat or a nice basis for my second system? - streamers will vary but likely Aries mainly.

The DAC-V1 is a nice bit of kit depending on your needs. If you want a neat digital hub with pre-amp facility onboard and won’t require any analogue input then it’s great - just add a digital source and headphones, and/or amp and speakers and you’re there.
However, it’s less great if it’s to be used just as a fixed output source with a regular analogue pre-amp, in which case you would probably be better off with the Naim DAC for a bit more money.
Be sure the OLED display is still nice and bright.
