August update on Naim/Focal internet radio.
No downtime on the system with all servers running correctly. Around 460 stations updated to keep things running smoothly over July.
SWR, Germany
All main streams now have an ‘HD’ variant which is double the datarate of normal streams. They stream at 192kbit in a AAC/HLS container. Tradionally they have used AAC 96kbit which is on the edge of acceptable audio quality. Retune your presets if you wish to move to these better quality streams. Note - on older ‘green screen’ streamers of muso gen1 we recommend stick with the SD streams.
BBC Radio
The Beeb launched BBC Radio 6 Indie Forever channel. This is now on Naim radio in 320kbit and with extended metadata stream.
There has also been an update to all BBC station artwork to their latest variants.
ABC Lounge Radio, France
Now has extended metadata feed. The system is still learning that one, but it’s slowly improving on the hit rate.which is currentky around 40%, goal to get to more than 95%
