Naim n-Cent for Stereo Playing?

Hello everyone. I have a pair of Naim n-Sat and I am very happy with their performance. I currently have the opportunity to buy two Naim n-Cent. My question is whether this pair of n-Cent will perform better than the two standard n-Sat? Thank you in advance for your time and competent answers! Good luck and cheers!

I recall @Adam.Meredith having something to say about using a pair of N-Cents. He may have some recollection of whether or not they worked well.

I’ve not tried it myself, but I do know someone who loves using a pair of Axess centre speakers and I remember a dealer in the South of France who adored using a pair of Axents for stereo music use.

I use n-sats and an n-cent, alongside Ovator 400s with a SN3, and a Marantz NR1711, as they are intended, for A/V.

They work well in a supporting function. As the n-cent is focussed on mid-range I can’t see it working well as a full range speaker. Difficult to place in a pair I would imagine. I would stick with the n-sats - worth finding the Naim stands if you don’t have them already.

The N-Cent is a full range speaker. I reckon it’ll work fine in a stereo pair.

Clearly not designed as a pair, but good luck.

No, of course it’s designed as a single centre channel speaker, but it is a full range design, not bandwidth limited, so I can’t see why a pair of them wouldn’t work.

If placed vertically (i.e. on their ends) would an n-cent effectively act as an MTM? Also, how close is the n-cent to a D’appolito design - I am aware that there is more to such a speaker than just the MTM arrangement.

MTM?
D’appolito?
Sorry, I have no idea what these terms mean. Could you explain?

No problem.
MTM means mid woofer/tweeter/mid woofer. Basically when a speaker design uses an identical (usually) mid woofer wired in parallel either side of the tweeter - e.g Linn Ninka.
A D’appolito design, as I understand it, is a particular MTM which uses certain driver spacing and crossover design to create particular frequency response, dispersion and lobing effects, particularly for reinforcing bass response.
