Dear forum members, I would appreciate your valuable advice: I have replaced the capacitors in all my Naim devices except the NDac. Do you think I should do it? The DAC is about fifteen years old. Thanks, and please excuse my imperfect English.
Discussion of DIY alterations to Naim electronics is against forum rules, especially electrical alterations.
I don’t think he mentioned DIY
No he didn’t, so @tarantina5555 did you replace the capacitors or Naim or a Naim approved service engineer do it for you ?
absolutely from Naim authorized service
In that case, yes absolutely have the NDac serviced. That said, i’m not shure an NDac has a set service interval.
Do you use an external power supply.
Yes, I use XPS2.
In that case, only one of the capacitors on the ndac power supply board is being used. (the blue one).
The blue one is used in the power supply of the DPS, so probably not as important as the redundant black ones.
It’s come up before, and I don’t believe I’ve seen a report of someone who’s actually had it done. I’m curious myself.
There was this recently Does the NDAC still have servicing support.. Or would it need Servicing
That then refers to an earlier thread
We had it done.
Covered in other threads (along with the reasons).
