Naim Olive Supercap Power Supply

I am currently running a Flatcap XS, NAC282 and NAP 250. I’m aware that I would be a good idea to upgrade the power supply. I may have an opportunity to buy a second hand olive supercap of circa 1998 vintage. I have two questions -

  • Assuming it’s in good condition, I’d guess this would be a worthwhile upgrade from the Flatcap?
  • Would I get a better result buying a newer Hicap 2 or Hicap DR?

Given its age, I’d factor in a service - unless it’s been done recently, but yes a considerable upgrade. :grinning_face:

Whether it’s better value than a newish Hicap DR is perhaps more nuanced…….

If possible go SC, we went hicap 2 hicap then olive SC serviced. In hindsight a direct jump would be more economical, and made our 82 just brilliant.
