Naim Olive

Very interesting. I have the Nac52/Supercap combo and it’s going nowhere. I love it.

I also replaced the volume control with the Pots 8 through Lasa di Piacenza. Simply fantastic

I agree. A final spec example is the way to go. Also although the 552 is subjectively better and as an owner of an S1 I know that it is better still there is something special about the 52 pre amp. It just makes music listening a pleasure and if I had to sell my S1 then after a short withdrawal period I feel certain that I could live happily with the 52 and 135’s or even better a 500.

CDS1 and late model 52 is heaven sent!!

Just back after 4 months in hospital for Cabbage (CABG) the olive system sounds really good even after 2 hours. I am using a pair of 135s into Nibbles.

I haven’t seen the Naim CDS advert before, but the other is mine and I posted it here on the forum back in June 2019.

Hi Geoff! What a fantastic ad work you did! Love from both a Naim lover and designer! The floor’s blue and green colour complement so well with 52! Was the dawn of 90s aesthetic

I’m reading about Naim for almost 10 years and have never seen these before.

The one below is probably the prototype they carried at the Milan hi fi show in ‘87

Yes, it was one of the prototypes with the drop down fascia cover. I recall that the old service dept. had one high up on top of the racking shelves, albeit looking a bit dusty and missing the front flap, but still with the distinctive recessed volume and balance knobs and source selection buttons. I wonder whether @NeilS knows what happened to it?

I remember the one you mean, but I don’t recall what happened to it. It was in a very sorry state though.

Neil.

I too remember seeing this at the factory, and am wondering if I also saw it at Tom Tom Audio amongst the displays of old naim units and prototypes there, a couple of years ago?

Very likely as I seem to recall that James bought one from the factory.

He certainly did, I remember seeing it a few years ago.

Olive is the theme for the office, also on the walls.

Started with a Nait 2, but recently managed to find my dream shoebox combo.

Cannot go wrong with a Nait 2 and Guru Juniors! Fantastic combination. The music just flows.
