Wall art rather than a painting. I have always felt wall art a bit tacky but we were rather taken by this. I have just painted the wall behind, which was white, and the gold on the leaves now pings rather pleasantly.
We bought this about 40 years ago, and I think it has aged rather well.

I have a lot of artwork hung around my flat, these are three large paintings in my listening room made by a Sheffield born artist called Foster-m. I got to know him very well over the years due to our shared love of avant-garde music and we became great friends meeting regularly to play records. He sadly died last year due to an undiagnosed heart condition, he was only 55.

I’m pretty sure Jamie is referring to the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition. It’s held every Summer at the Royal Academy of Art in Piccadilly London.

Indeed I am! 
Another original painting that hangs in my listening room. This is one of three I own by another Sheffield based artist called Simon Kent. He is primarily a street artist (under the handle sikoart70) but also produces sculptures and medium to large scale paintings. The other two works I have are both 3’x4’, this one being the smallest of the trio at 16”x20”.
