My local SG dealership for Naim has changed since last 2 years or so. The previous dealer held the dealership for more than 20 years.
How do you tell if the local dealer is experienced in servicing Naim? Anyone able to tell if there is training given to the the new dealer with regards to servicing by Naim? How does Naim do the QC for overseas dealers?
Wanted to send over to Class A but shipping is really expensive.
Singapore ma? If so I did get my 552 RMA by AVOne to send to UK and debug some distortion problems. Nothing of note discovered but Naim rebuilt it and clean for me and no distortion after that. Cost me shipping SGD$500 to UK and $2500 to come back.
AVOne has their own technician to check basic connection and even authorised to open box and take a look at wires. But if can’t debug any further it is back to UK.
Yes. Singapore. Im looking at recap services for 250DR and understand that they do it locally. So given a relatively new dealer for Naim, i do have concerns and wonder what is the QC.
It’s a question I guess only the dealer or distributor can answer. Usually distributors try to send their techs to Naim for some trainings but not always possible. Naim send a kit of parts to the distributor, which are then fitted by their technician.
I just tell my wife that her servicing costs are weekly but the hifi is once every 15 years and all added together, servicing the hifi actually costs less.
As long as it’s said to her far enough away from the kitchen (sharp things and rolling pins to inflict blunt force trauma), should be safe…………………………….until you are asleep
Back in 2013 I was auditioning for a complete new system with my wife. The stuff I had chosen was in the region of £25k which back then was a lot more than it was now. I asked her if it was okay in front of the dealer and she said something like, “if you knew what I spent on shoes and handbags over the past few years you wouldn’t even ask me. £25k is a drop in the ocean. Knock yourself out.”
Of course two kids and a cost of living crisis later things might be different.
