Excuse me, how do I connect my stageline to Nac 72 and Flatcap XS?
Are you using the Flatcap XS got power the NAC72? If so, you should use the Power Out B to power the Stageline (via SNAIC5) and then signal from the Stageline to the NAC72 via 4-5 Interconnect. Be sure to have the signal direction band correct on the SNAIC.
Thank you very much
No the Nac72 is powered by the hicap while the flatcap xs powers the cd5xs.
OK, then youâll use the other power output of the FC, using a SNAIC 5, with the 4-5 to connect to the pre-amp.
Ok thank you very much.
Hello, I received the stageline s that I bought, does it have golden rca connecters, do you think they are yours or have they been replaced? Thank you
from the picture they look right. Hereâs the official picture of the back of the Stageline (N version in this instance) from Naimâs website;
These are correct for the Stageline. The older models were different however.
Thatâs how my S looks.
And mine⌠![]()
Amusingly, my Sondek came (in 1982) with RCA connectors. When I acquired the NAC 82 I had to change them to BNC. When âin later daysâ I acquired the Stageline S, I had to change the BNC back to RCA.
My thoughts at the time were along the lines of, âI wish theyâd make their bl00dy minds up!â ![]()

While the RCA Phonos were standard on the Stageline, you could have Naim fit BNCs as an option if you so wished. I did this with my Stageline K.
Thank you but my stageline is fine like this.
I think that Naim has always had clear ideas until customersâ and fashionâs trends wanted otherwise.
RCA connectors have never been a standard for line level audio connections in times when science ruled and hifi hype didnât. BNC have the proper 75 ohm impedance, RCA donât. That said, Naim has to sell, and audiophiles often make a personal point to know better.
Stageline might have RCA inputs, but preamps from an era when phono meant something have all BNC.
You know, that mod never occurred to me. ![]()
Naim decided to offer the RCA Phonos as standard on the Stageline as it was appropriate for the standard âentry-levelâ phono stage which would be used with most turntable arm leads that were so terminated. IIRC BNCs were offered as an option but only to order.
The Prefix of course did not use RCA Phonos as it plugged directly into the tonearm and the Superline came with both BNCs and WBT Next Gen RCAs.
Just for reference the correct impedance for the BNCs used on the Phono stages is 50 ohms.
I wanted to ask you a silly question, but I want to make sure Iâm doing well. The stageline has the connections for the turntable that are ch.1 left and ch.2 right I connected the black cable on ch.1 left and the risso on ch.2 right. I hope I did well.
You did it correctly.
Ok thank you very much
