I need help, I have two systems, the Naim and a valve system that I alternate on a single pair of speakers by disconnecting and connecting the power cables from time to time. The problem is that in this way it is impossible for me to keep the Naim system always on unless when I have to change the system I only turn off the final, the Nap 250. Is this a possible solution?
@gaecam What is your Naim system? I struggle with the same issue. I have a NC system.
Does anyone with a NC system, keep it on all the time? I am not concerned with power usage.
Nac 82, Napsc, Hicap and Nap 250 Chrome Bumper
I always keep it on
Sorry what is NC?

Not entirely clear what you’re trying to do. Do you have two completely separate systems with one set of speakers or are parts, power amp for example, common to both?
FWIW power amps tend to come on song a lot quicker than preamps. The power packs on my active speakers consume quite a lot of power even when idle. So I keep them switched off until half an hour or so before a listening session. This is pretty much in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.

Naim system will definitely benefit from being left on. The NAP 250 is the least likely to be disgruntled, but ideally, leave all on 24/7/365.
Anyone leaving a NC system on 24/7 ?
I am.
My 333 never sleep.
No, in one system the amplifier is the Nap 250 in the other system I have integrated tubes.
Maybe I didn’t explain myself well, I would just like to know if leaving the entire Naim system on except the Nap 250 can do any damage.
My NC system is fully powered up or in instant-on standby, which keeps all circuits critical to SQ powered up, as I understand it.
Not at all; the obverse would be true.
Nope
@paulbysea What is instant on standby ? Is that the default 20 minutes in the Naim system settings in the app?
As with most, possibly all, solid state amps Naim amps are perfectly stable with no speakers connected, so you can disconnect speaker cables quite happily from the amp when it is powered up, though best to turn stop music or sound level to zero/mute. Just take care not to short the amp terminals in the process, though the risk of doing that is very low when swapping at the amp end if you are reasonably careful (greater risk if swapping at the speaker end). Also my understanding is that Naim amps are protected against shorts which if I am correct means no damage would result if that were to happen. In other words you don’t need to power down the NAP when changing speakers.
My understanding is that not all valve amps are happy with no load connected, so check these same aspects before treating that one in the same way. though I don’t think that was your intent.
It won’t.

Only to your pocket and environment if you are paying for energy and that energy is produced using fossil fuel.
