Naim To Share Manufacturing

Yes indeed. I’m actually planning an holiday in Italy whist dropping off 3 amps there for service. They are fabulous. Yet people complain about servicing in Europe…

Go for it then…

See my post earlier in the thread;
…set up by Naim production engineers, everyone involved trained by Naim, all overseen by Naim, using all Naim parts and processes, and everything tested by Naim - so a completely “Naim” operation, just off-site

Go for what?

False choice?

You may be right, I haven’t checked prices lately. The last time I bought some Naim stuff, there was a marked difference between the UK and abroad - and when I bought my first ever Naim in 78 or 79, prices on the continent were about three times as high…

Lots can happen in 45 years

And that is why some of the outrage here is somewhat puzzling…

All fine if you trust the brand. If not, it might be time to move on — regardless of the location of their production site.

Totally agree.

Er, this was four or five years ago, not 45…

There is no outrage from me. I am just looking at the Elephant in the Room. Which we cannot mention.

Its quite clear why this decision has been made… :elephant:

If you sell lots inside the EU, best to manufacture in the EU.

That’s the reality of the EU’s rules.

I can’t possibly imagine what you are on about there🤔

Brand loyalty is such a fickle thing. Think of the options, a new larger facility in Salisbury, or a second facility there, or either options elsewhere in the UK. Retains the brands strength as the best of British hi-fi. Or move a bunch of manufacturing outside the UK and try and pretend that it’s the same thing.

Exactly Mike….and HQ needed expanding or knocking down and relocating years ago imo……but locally.

Someone had to say it. And where is this mystical off-shore place, France, as part of the road map to absorbing into Focal…

Not according to RD (post 46 or thereabouts).

Long term that’s probably what’s required, but in the short term at least, with demand having increased so much in the last few years, just not a realistic possibility, from what I can see. This is probably the best option for right now.

I missed that, where is it?

Almost suggests it’s temporary, I worked in manufacturing all my life - I’m afraid this only ever goes one way.
