Naim uniti2 naim nap 250 dr how so i add a subwooofer please

Hi i have a naim uniti2 as a preamp and a naim nap 250dr and a pair of martion logan aerius i loudspeakers how how do add a subwoofer please i thinking via the naim uniti2 output im not shure if it will be ok , i was thinking of a small 6.5 inch rel or somthing simalar , many thanks

As good as the Uniti2 is, its preamp is not up to the standard of the 250DR. I’d save for a better pre, second hand 282 or even an older 102 would provide a deeper bass performance. Best wishes Amer

Thanks i was looking at a naim nac n 272 i also have a theta compli cd / dvd player as well

The best option is to connect the high level input on the sub to the input terminals on your loudspeakers. Alternatively use the sub output on the Uniti to connect to the sub using an RCA cable. The former method usually sounds a little better, but either will work.

Back in the days I had Flashback to make me a special cable in order to connect my sub to a UQ1/Nap 200 setup.

Flashback is no longer, maybe there’s other which can create such cable.?

Ok many thanks

I’ve got a 272 and although I don’t use the dated streaming side , it’s a belter of a pre amp and with the added bonus of a superb dac …..

Can be had for a bargain now

Ok many thanks

Thanks for all you advice i just bought a almost new MD XLS300-DF it looks like new , bareley used £260 ,delivered boxed all the instructions and input leads spikes and power cable the nain NAC N272 will be about £700 to £800 mark used im so looking forward to playing with it , its a 10” woofer and 300w rms power , great review and about the £500 mark so almost half price

I intend to wire into the rhs speaker to the speakon cable

Ideally you should connect the sub to both loudspeakers. It will still work OK connected to one, but using both channels is better.
