Hello,
I use a Naim XS-2; when the volume is set below the 9 o’clock position, the sound feels unbalanced—lacking a proper stereo image or sounding uneven between the left and right speakers. Is this normal, or is there something I should check because this situation is abnormal? Once the volume is turned up past the 9 o’clock mark, the issue disappears.
thank you
Might be a dirty pot dust got in the plates.
Usually some success can be achieved firstly by switching off the amp then do good few fast sweeps to full volume and back might dislodge or wipe the pot clean.
But if worn out it might need a replacement repair or service.

Remember amp switched off.

What source are you using? It is a common problem with the volume control of some (older) Naim amplifiers. I had a Nait 5si and now have a Nait XS3 and both have channel imbalance at low volume. I solved the problem with a Russ Andrews DIN interconnect between my Nait XS3 and my ND5XS2. This interconnect has built in attenuation (I use -14db). Did wonders for me…

You could try Rothwell RCA In-Line Attenuators.
