Nait 50 streamer / DAC?

I just purchased a Nait 50. Any recommendations for a streamer and DAC? Thanks.

I use a WiiM Ultra with a Chord Qutest (optical).

Sounds excellent in the office.

BlueSound Node and Chord Qutest DAC, or Lindemann DAC and Bridge

There is of course the AtomHE as streamer, but this may be seen as overkill as (I think) there is an overlap of parts in the headphone amp side of the machines

Budget? The Nait 50 excels with high end streamer/DAC’s.

I’m using an NSS333/300 with mine.

I would have never thought a NSS333/300 would pair so well with a Nait 50. Very nice!

I would buy a source for the level of the N50 rather then the footprint. A 333 are more appropriate to where it’s performance is at.

There are a small number of shoebox sized streamers at the N50 level but they are not really going to save any money over a 333 which probably has decent synergy with it.

Your other options are a standalone DAC with a small streaming transport like an Ifi Zen Stream. There are more compact high quality DACs than single box streamers. Again, the DAC it deserves is going to reasonably expensive.

I guess this all really depends on whether your N50 is the heart of your main end-game system or used in an office/bedroom second system as to how much you want to spend to match the source to the N50’s potential.

Atom HE works well and is worth a consideration - gently used these are c£1500 and are half width although not a perfect visual match!

Another WiiM + Qutest user here. It does depend on cost and location, though. I set myself the brief of replacing the Atom in my office with an N50-based setup at the cost of a new Atom and it’s a substantial upgrade.

I also use mine with a CD5XS and they do sound great together so I would guess using it with ND5XS2 should work very well, if the visual mismatch is not an issue.

The ‘Nait 50’ thread made  me buy a Nait 50 even though I had no idea what I was going to do with it. I already had an Atom (not the HE version) that I was more than happy with. Anyway, the Nait sat in it’s box for a week or two until I decided to buy a lead to connect it to the Atom. I wasn’t sure what to expect as this didn’t seem to be the most favoured pairing. However, I think it sounds great, a significant improvement.

I was eyeing the Cyrus Stream XR, being a half width case. But, in the end, I bought a used Naim ND5XS2.

Still curious about the Cyrus but in the end opted for system synergy.

Rose 150B streamer/DAC. I’ve be trying this combo in my main system for almost two months now, and have never felt the need to go back to my separates. What’s interesting is that the Rose 150B, when using it’s own DAC, was a bit fatiguing on the long run with 282/HCDR(2)/200DR. With the smoother sounding NN50 is about perfect to my ears.

Yes. It’s much more satisfying then the 222/300/250 it replaced.

What really surprises me is how much more satisfying the LP12 is using an AT SUT and the Nait Phono stage is.

I just bought a Wattson Emerson Digital to replace my Node (feeding a NewOntech tube DAC), and it’s a significant, big step up. Power cord important over stock. And I procured a Wattson Madison streamer/DAC for a friend’s system as he does not have a standalone DAC, and it is also very nice for the money. FWIW! What I like about it besides SQ is just how simple it is to use. Also delivering Naim radio stations and more. Also love the tiny footprint. I stream Qobuz, fyi.
