Dwarfing the price is right on. In USD, my speakers, streamer and turntable are roughly 24x the cost of the Nait 50.
Even the high bitrate stuff through Bluesound load almost immediately.
Ooh. Cyrus Classic Stream half price to run them outâŚâŚ
May be a option to replace the WiiM in my home study into my NN50 & SCM11sâŚ
Or search why it doesnât sell wellâŚ..
ND5XS2-nDac-XPSDR
First step on the splitting of the system today, after a degree of soul searching a BlueSound Node will accompany my UnitiQute into my Nait 50 .
The alternative was an Atom , the Nait 50 will comfortably outperform the Atom , and if the UnitiQute isnât the last word in DACs it will still be very reasonable. This is after all a TV based system
I may be more adventurous with the headphone system and replace the ND5XS2 and the headphone amp with an Atom HE - and reduce box count and get a remote as well
BS Node into a UQ as a DAC? Then power from a N50? Wouldnât you get approx the same out of a WiiM mini into a UQ? Or just the BS Node into the N50?
Just using the UQ as a DAC , thatâs it. In fact the UQ has been doing DAC duties around 10 years. That is all I have used it as, the Node brings HDMI to the party.
I heard the Node about 18 moths ago and was seriously impressed , that time I heard it with the Chord Qutest . By using the UnitiQute I save myself over a thousand pounds
WiiM is partly owned by Google and Ever Solo by a huge Chinese company, I wanted to support an audio company.
The other alternative is a CI102âŚ
atom he works very well.
I vote for Wiim ultra
I heard a BS Powernode Edge maybe 1-2 years ago and was very impressed. Think I was comparing it to a Sonos Port. It blew the Sonos away on all fronts. Think theyâve got really nice mid-to-hi fi products. Which is why I thought you could cut out the middleman of the UQ DAC.
But Iâm in box avoidance mode these days, so my judgement and outlook is for sure coloured.
But think if I was going to get a N50 (and that may realistically happen) Iâd pair it w a Node for sure.
Yes, the Atom can replace the Nait 50, a streamer and a DAC , the Nait 50 can go into the headphone system .
This is primarily a system built around casual listening and TV whereas the headphone system will be built around serious listening
Yes, I am very guilty of trying to overthink these things . I was incredibly impressed with the Node - which has Presto as well.
A lot of flexibility for not too much money .
Presto?
Yes, it is a UK based streaming service built for classical music and jazz. Operates in the same way as Quobuz . You can buy a little dinky box as yet another box to sit in the rack
.
My wish ever since my five box 200 series is to simplify and condense my system.
got it. guessing stuff like that is whatâs keeping you from using the UQ2 as a standalone device.
What about an Atom? Has that ever been part of the thinking?
Very much so.
I can see a scenario where I â de- boxâ
and have two Atoms , a HE and conventional Atom
Kees us posted - Iâm very curious to hear how the Node pairs w the N50 - both w and w/o the UQ DAC stage
Looks like Presto is coming to Naim as well. Already released on NC and I suspect will be coming soon on relatively recent earlier models.
Yes, it is. I have it on very good authority
