I noticed that on the back of my NAP 350s are Designed in the UK by Naim Audio not Designed and made in the UK by Naim Audio like the NC 250. where the 350 is made?
Some of the NC range on launch were made in Slovakia by a 3rd party, shipped to Naim who then inspected and tested them. This was just to quickly build up launch stock, all are now made at HQ. I was unaware the 350 was built in Slovakia, but the sticker would suggest it was?
I believe it was made in Europe nd sent back to Salisbury for final test. I recall Richard saying that had changed more recently.
It was done at the beginning of NC production so Naim was able to deliver units worldwide at launch. The Salisbury factory did not have enough build capacity available, so one of Naim’s supplier/partners helped out by providing the necessary space, human resource and capacity. Think of it as adding on an extra production room to the Salisbury factory, just with a 1000 mile corridor. All the kit but in the Slovakia facility was sent to Salisbury for final testing and preparation before sale. Currently all NC kit is built in Salisbury.
I’ve wonder if items made outside Salisbury will keep same resale value as those made in HQ ?
They will for me, probably better QC being tested twice.
A moot point as I will never be selling them. 45 years after buying my first Naim (Nait) these are my end game amps
It was a generel thought I had, no specifics, sorry for thread divert.
Are you wondering if units made in Slovakia by highly skilled technicians should depreciate more slowly than UK built units……![]()

As @Gazza has already mentioned it is likely that the Slovak items will have received more testing. Personally I’d like to see more use of global manufacturing excellence rather than reply in single source with the vulnerability that brings.
Being rarer, Slovak-built Naim boxes could, in the fullness of time, become collectors’ items and start appreciating again.
Maybe. I know all my previous Naim equipment hummed audibly, especially in the evening but these 350s are exceptionally quiet all the time on the same mains supply/home wiring as my previous OC, Olive and CB units were on. Also there is no hiss or thumping from my loudspeakers again totally silent.
Looks like the current price of a pair of 350s has dropped by £1k to £12k. Does that sound correct?
Yes, Naim recently lowered the prices.
Good. These are high on my list to demo. Along with Rega Solis. My dealer is dragging his feet IMO, with arranging a demo. But im not blessed with too many others in resonable distance.
I’ve always found Naim items resale value interesting.
Thats a good point, in fact every scenario seem possible.
Wonder how many items were in fact made in Slovakia ?
Only the good ones. ![]()
I think ex display 350s are sometimes advertised by dealers and are seriously good value for money
There are a few around from about £8500 per pair. I may well go pre owned, or at least see what is on the table from my dealer. Ill give them the opertunity to make me an offer I cant refuse first.
Thats a bloody interesting price for potential 500 owners.
Still a heck lot of money for the poweramp section, because you still need a preamp and source, if money is no object I’d seriously consider, as I never came on with the classic Nap 300.
