Hello, could be wrong here, but does anyone think the logo lighting has diminished? I really couldn’t say as I just notice the other day, seems the whole logo isn’t fired up. The PS is exactly the same which lens me to think it’s the way it should be. Could be an ocd moment on my part.
Looks like logo bleed issues which they solve when the box is at Naim for service.
Here’s mine and they replaced it at the latest service. Cosmetic issue “only”.
There was an issue with the logos a few years ago where they would “bleed” black dye. Maybe the issue you have. Naim were replacing them when the item went in for service I believe. It is just cosmetic and doesn’t affect performance
Thank you guys
It looks like it could be logo “bleed”, with is where the layers delaminate slightly. Unfortunately on a NAP500 it’s a very big job to replace and, IIRC, may well require a return trip to the factory as the entire case work and internal construction of there amp has to be dismantled to get to it, and of course it then has to be rebuilt, which is a job only a few people can do properly. I would suggest you have a chat with your supplying Naim dealer. It’s really something best left until a major service is done.
Logo bleed, as others have said. How old is this 500?
Thanks Richard, yes I have to send it in from New Zealand at some stage.
It’s 2009 but was in storage for 9 years so the logo looking at 6 or so years of work, guess it’s that time for them to bleed, you can definitely see something delaminating in the surround of the logo, kinda off black. Doesn’t worry me that much. Sounding very good, happy as scallop.
I expect the bleed happens whether powered up or not. My 282 from 2012 and superline from 2008 had/have bleed. Doesn’t bother me too much. I’ll see if my dealer can swap out the one in my superline. Dont know if naim had a few years of these, or whether bleed just happens every X years or so.
absolutely, why complicate things?

Olive is peak!
Timeless, like the CBs themselves.
Seriously its such a shame this topic, we’ve had 3 display’s replaced under warranty with qute, DACV1 and other Naim products.

A good design can take some dust
Nothing is perfect. Olive plastic fascias degrade over time and can have colour variations and go brittle. Logos would sometimes differ in brightness or discolour over time.
The earliest was the best they still keep the white color ,but easy to the replace the CB front plate.
