Napsc socket on NAC 282

Quick question, should the napsc socket on the back of the NAC 282 be loose?

Don’t think so. Mine isn’t.

Just checked mine. It isn’t loose, but there is a little movement if wiggled.

It depends on how you define loose. There is a little bit of play on the whole assembly with a plug inserted, but if the socket itself feels loose or can rotate then the locking nut that secures it from behind has come loose and will need to be tightened up.

Depends on what you mean by “loose”. Some Naim gear has “decoupled” sockets (eg my Stageline sockets “rattle” if you jiggle them and this is by design). Not sure about the NAPSC socket on the 282, though(?)

When I turned the collar connecting the cable to the socket, the socket also turned.

That’s not right. The nut inside securing the socket to the back panel has come loose.

Should be an easy fix, lid off, inspect and tighten as required. Lid on.
