I could buy a Nat 101 with Snaps, but there’s no sound. The seller says Snaps works; should I do it?

A NAT101 with no sound could be bad news. Only Naim can service these, so worth doing so long as the tuner head is still ok. @neils may be able to add more here…
Mmm… does no sound mean it’s not tuning, or an audio fault? You need to know really - does the dial light get brighter & do the signal/stereo lights work? If not, it could be a tuner head problem, which would make it a big gamble.

Thanks, I’ll have to ask tomorrow.
I bought mine new 1987 from Studio 99 in Swiss Cottage when Dave Davis was the head salesman. In the late 90’s it developed a fault of drifting it went back to Naim where it was in the service department for nearly 8 weeks.
They phoned me to tell me that they couldn’t pin point the fault so they fitted a complete mother board and head unit. The service charge was £106, came back working to perfection. In 2022 the Snaps was faulty the supply had dropped down from 24.5v to 24v I sent the unit to Class A and it was back within a week.
The Nat 101 is still working fine although doesn’t get as much airplay as it should.
Regards,
Martin
