I have a feeling it’s not hi-res, or even lossless, though.
It is lossy- 256kbps
John Darko already e-mailed Bluesound and posted their response at his site:

Currently, these tools provide lossy versions of the audio.” That toolkit is what Apple calls MusicKit and, as the developers of the Cider desktop client have complained, it serves third parties AAC at 256kbps and nothing higher, for now. Apple keeps the ALAC streams for its own apps.
This is Apple’s doing. Bluesound can only pass along what MusicKit hands it and the same goes for any other streamer maker offering Apple Music natively."
