NC system not waking up Periodically

Hi

My NC system periodically does not wake up. I have standby set to never. When I select Standby on the Naim app at the end of the day, then sometimes the following day, I can’t play anything from the Naim app. I have to physically go to my 333 and press the top most button to wake the system. Should I not put it in Stabdby at the end if the day?

Hi Jaybar, That seems odd. I also have 333/332/350 set to ‘never’ go to sleep. (Mostly because it seemed to put itself to sleep during movies opt in 333 or playing vinyl 332/RCA if the volume hadn’t been touched for a while :face_with_raised_eyebrow: ). However, I don’t have an issue waking it up from the remote or via the app.

I do get occasional other glitches (when it seems to lose the Zigbee connection) that require a full off at the mains and restart, which happens every few months.

Perhaps a full reset will help?

@nitrous Do you put it in standby at the end of the day?

Yes, I use either the 333 top button or the app. The whole system goes into standby.

If I don’t put my system in standby, can the lights be left off at night. How would I do this?

I don’t think you can leave lights on, but you could dim them. Have you tried turning everything on and off at the mains? Most of these devices are basically mini computers, and we all know that turning the average computer on and off can fix a whole host of minor issues:wink:

How is the 333 connected to the network wired or wireless. If wired this should not happen, wireless maybe so. When you say you cannot start it from the app does the 333 not appear. We have had some discussions but my understanding is in a all 300 system the 333 is the starting point and it wakes up the rest of the units from sleep, but I still suppose you need to connect all devices with the thinn cables I forget the name and maybe these connections can be done wrong not likely but you never know.

Also again this is not from my own understanding but the remote also plays a part of this and it needs to be pared to the 333.

My dealer said that you can get into troubles getting exactly this feature to work on a 300 system. Since I use nd552 I have setup system automation to get down to one remote and has to start the 332/350 from the front buttons when I have to get it off from sleep because the 555 cannot send the needed signal. but at least I am down to one remote and the app.

@Claus just for your info there is no system automation cable between the 333 and 332. It relies on the wireless Zigbee connection. I think this is where some of glitches lie for me, such as not coming out of mute, but I haven’t experienced what Jaybar is describing.
