Greetings! I have a Naim Nait XS 3 integrated amp in my system, and I currently use the WiiM Pro Plus as my streaming device. I’m considering replacing the WiiM Pro Plus with a streamer device, and I’m wondering if the Naim ND5 XS2 is worth buying in late 2025. I have been offered to buy such device with white led. I’ve also heard that the ND5 XS2 has reached the end of its production.
In addition, my Naim XS 3 has green LEDs. I know this might seem like a minor issue, but I’m wondering if it’s worth replacing the XS 3 with the ND5 XS2 to have consistent colors in my audio system
Naim makes great streamers. I can’t say how the ND5XS2 compares to your current streamer, but I started out with an ND5XS2 to use with my SN3 and had no issues. I am cautious about purchasing discontinued components unless from a Naim dealer. The ND5XS2 has a more limited upgrade path in that you cannot add a power supply. That may or may not be important to you. I also find Naim streamers improve with better interconnects. That also may or may not be something you want to do as well.
