To be honest … like the sound…but nothing else works. ALL songs copied appear in wrong order in the album. Same when done via network copy or usb… song order completely mixed up.
What is this?
@Steve you had the same issue… found a thread. Quobuz downloads are totally fixed up in song order. Has there been a solution?
I had the same problem when I wanted to transfer my Wav albums from the Unitserve to the Melco. My dealer tried to help me but we didn’t managed to do it properly.
For some here it’s easy, but I am not very computer skilled.
At the end my dealer asked a tekie friend customer who did it for me.
Maybe ask your dealer?
We can be sure now: you are better skilled than me on this.
I even don’t have an access to the Melco files through my Mac . I see it but I have access denied.
So I put my downloads on the usb stick then on the back on the Melco to transfer.
However it’s very quick too.
@drago the problem is with the file naming structure that Qobuz give the files you need to remove the underscores and or hyphens. This can be done on mass via a tagging program. I use Jaicoz (spelling may not be correct!) its a massively flexible editor that you can customise your views on BUT I would only recomend if you want to do a lot of changes! I change EVERY album that goes onto the Melco.
The Melco app does not and has never worked for me. Why not just use the Naim app? Thats what I do anyway. I would not want 2 apps, I installed out of interest only.
You should open maybe a new thread, because you will have probably other questions and more people will help. But perhaps you will succeed quickly……I hope for you.
I finally could log into Melco, writing “ nobody “ as username and password. It works. I could send two downloads from Mac air to Melco.
Now I have to see how to delete some files or add cover albums for some missing. Holidays can help for that.
Will open new thread if further Melco topics cam up and post my impressions of sound here - hope this is OK.
Maybe open another tread as well - this is a bit of my own blog. Not very helpful if anyone is looking for something
@frenchrooster the kids woke me up early today so I decided to do some CD’s like you mentioned. I did about 15 or so. For artwork searching the arrist and album name exactly and then ‘apple music’ is currently giving me good results, band camp can also be used if the results are not good enough and then album art exchange forum as a third tier. I do photograph my own but maybe only 1 in 50 these days.
@drago your thread, your blog. I personally like the diversity of this thread, especially for your musings on products.
For specific Melco related problems then a new thread makes sense but I would not worry for your impressions. At least there is an entire background here to add context.
@frenchrooster you would just delete the files as you would any other file on your mac. Find the Melco in the side bar and then follow the folders to the files and just delete. Because I rename all folders I have to delete the dead/empty folders for each album. Its super simple
The N10 is considered from my dealers perspective to offer a good balance of excitement and finesse. Its likely slightly better on Rock/Pop style music then the previous top of the range one box SSD unit. That was replaced however by the SSD N10. Melco seem to have gone one better with the new top line unit though!
Good - just again in my “Bass gate” - will give him some time to warm up and also a Powerline soon.
Just thought that SMPS are more bass heavy - from pollution?
But to be honest - N10 is really good. Will write in detail tomorrow
If only I can dim the LEDS… once again - after nait 50
I tap on Melco in Finder. Then click on it and a folder “ share “ appears. I open it and all the Melco files open. So I tried to delete one ( put in the trash). But it still appears on my Naim app.
Anything wrong with what I did?
Switched to bridge mode - should this be done eve if connected to lan Port - not Player port
I had disabled the player port
There are no lights on lan ports at n10
I use the naim app, but thought that with Melco app I can have a look inside the library - number of albums etc as with n-serve. I like n serve very much for this.
