What would be your view on the Roon Nucleus? Would you endorse it?

Hi Thomas, have you not got things a little mixed up?

UPnP is a standardised collection of specific network control protocols to allow devices to discover, communicate and control each other such as control points, renderers, firewalls, home automation and media servers.

RAAT is a specific closed protocol environment that is unique to Roon, that focuses on audio renderer discovery and control.

Both use HTTP data transfer methods for audio I seem to remember.

Now if you had been talking about Sonos … then yes from what I saw sometime back, that uses a profiles version of UPnP, or a ‘pimped up’ version as you put it.
