NDS and ND555 - comparing

I like to open and new thread

NDS coming next Wednesday and then I will try him together / in exchange to my ND555 (which suffers from latest FW sound).

Here I like to add my impressions when I will go for testing and fiddling again :slight_smile:

PLEASE - here (myself also) no further comments to the FW situation. There is a thread for this :slight_smile:

Let me start with one question:

  • Can I use the double Burundiā€™s (red / green pasted labeled) also for the NDS. They are already dressed, so its much easier.
    I found some dealer advertising new Burndies for NDS or ND555 - so it seems to work.

On the other hand I read somewhere that the ND555 is using one more rail in the 555PS - so I do not want to damage anything.

Can anyone confirm.

You can use the same cables

The nd555 just has an extra supply for the clock.

From the other thread.
Just give the ND555 all the best bitā€™s and the NDS what yoy have got.
This will or should certainly help the ND555 show what it can do over the NDS.
But definitely also try stored files and streaming

Will certainly be interesting to see how you get on. As you already know how Dan and myself got on doing the direct test.
Obviously this time with the software problem i can see the NDS wining.
Anyway have fun.

I think I will do a quick swap first.
Nd555 out (2ps and sigma ) and pull the the nds in.

Will be interesting if I am already adopted to the new signature of 3.10. or will it be an immediate - oops, thatā€™s what I have missed!

The streaming board in NDS is very so so. Tidal integration as well. You need to play local files, add a better streamer or use UPNP like Audirvāna to get its full potential.

PS. Have they updated the forum board? Awful UX with notifications now.

I want to use local streaming from the zenith only - is the streaming board fit for that, or does it really need equalization from audirvana

I believe that is a similar solution. Audirvāna was an ear opener for me using NDS. The most cost effective way to make NDS a beast.

For interim - hope it is so - I can do local streaming only. But want my favorites to be so good again.
