How many other apps have you tried? I find the Prisma app one of the less fussy, more straightforward ones.

It is OK but it would be nice to be able to edit the source list for example and I have seen cleaner layouts and functionality. Not really complaining.

Yes. I have mentioned this to Terry (Primare) but his response was that they thought it was stripped down enough. Contact Terry to ask the same Q and we might get some action on it.

Just a monthly bill. Looks like we should have paid it back in November. That is minor issue. The biggest is the picture of how a dozen or two devices were recovering.
I added the uprated PS after watching their ‘tips and tricks’ video. This makes is clear that Primare accept the stock PS as a compromise to keep the entry cost down and admit the potential for improving it.

I’ve heard Primare streamers use the same software platform as Naim does. However, the np5 mk2 and nd5 xs2 behave differently. With some glitches they both get stuck, in other cases Naim performs much worse.
I have an LPS connected to my NP5 mk1. I tried the iFi iPower 2 but it caused more noise in my system. I tried one years ago with another streamer and had the same result.

How is radio streaming implemented in NP5. Can one add unique radio links by themselves like in the Naim radio app?
And can one control volume out digitally?
The volume output can be fixed or variable, controlled from the app.
Can’t help with the radio query, I haven’t used it yet.

@Fatcat , you won’t believe me. When my P10 is sold, i will get the NPS mk2 with Ifi Power X.
I will probably use Spotify lossless to discover new music. Then buy the files I want from Qobuz or Bandcamp.
I still don’t believe it will raise the sound quality for local streaming, but I will get you all informed.

NP5!
NPS sounds like it could be a Naim device. 
No difference between Mk1 and Mk2 unless you use roon. Checkout Primare video on YouTube.

Given the first rule in hifi is, spend the most money on the front end, it will be unexpected that a £500 streaming bridge will sound so good in a system with a 27 grand pre-amp.
Quite a few people have posted that it improves the sound quality of legacy Naim streamers, but I’m surprised that two people reported it works so well with the 552.
With regards to the app.
I actually like the fact that it is basic, but I’m a 67 year old who just wants to select an album and listen to it. But, I fully understand some people want more out of an app. The NP5 does spotify lossless connect, but it’s too complicated/messy for me.
Do you use any battery saving settings on your android device. Primare recommend switching battery saving off with android, it effects how the app works in the background.
I also use the iFi Xpower. It works fine with the nDAC.
Let’s hope it does raise the sound quality for local streaming. We don’t want to have to deal with an angry rooster.

When I was 7 years old, an angry rooster was attacking me. I had to kill him with a piece of wood. The farmer was not happy lol.
