If anyone has had an NDS serviced, please let me know how it was as a process, and did it sound better afterwards?
I’m not sure whether Naim still does this, but if anyone can confirm that it would be useful.

Repairs only on the nds.
Is that confirmed as a definite decision by Naim?
Is there somewhere it is visible online?
I suggest you talk to your Naim dealer if you haven’t already.
Thanks - I had already read that post.
But I am still interested in hearing from anyone who has performed a service on an NDS.
No, Mine was 2012 version. It had the screen replaced. I don’t think anyone has had one serviced, only repaired. My former NDS vs ND555 both sounded similar so no degradation of the NDS in 12 years.
Naim said that the power supply is the most important box to service when it’s time.
Thanks Dan.
IIRC you had some problems on return from the screen replacement.
Were those settled yet?
I wonder whether it’s worth the hassle of getting the screen replaced or just making do as it is with a very dim screen?
Because the dim screens seem so common that maybe their stock of screens is all old stock and it may happen again anyway?
I’d get the screen done while it’s still an option.
Yes, had loads of issues but Naim and Audio T Brighton sorted everything out in the end. Ended up with new screen and new remote and replacement fascia. Was all good in the end.
But do you think Naim’s stock of screens is all old stock and it may happen again anyway?
I reckon the screens last 10 years. Mine went totally blank by the end and had to change it.
Mine is tough to see with bare eyes but a trick is to use the smartphone since it increase the light from the display. I’ve just got a backup display with instructions for the future. Looks pretty easy to me and cost 100 EUR.
Can you say what you do with the smart phone to increase the light from the NDS display?
Try using the camera. Some sensors are able to pick up what’s on the screen.
Point the camera at the NDS screen. No lights on in the room or on the phone. The text on the NDS screen may then be visible on the phone screen.
That might work.
But if I’m close enough to do that (say 2m) I can read it without the phone.
