Hi all,
This is a new one for me.
The presets on my NDX2 have stopped functioning. Next to each one on the Naim app Home Screen is an exclamation mark. This is the case with both my iPhone and iPad version of the apps.
If I try to play a preset directly from the NDX2 (by pressing the star button on the front panel) it reads “connecting” but nothing happens.
I’ve tried re-starting the apps and NDX2. I’ve tried removing an album from the presets and replacing it with another but still it won’t work.
As the presets won’t work from the front panel it suggests that the problem is with the NDX2 rather than the app.
Now that seemed a likely solution, as my Qobuz subscription has just renewed.
Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be it. I logged out of Qobuz with both my iPhone and iPad and logged back in but I still have the same problem. Qobuz works fine in all other ways.
I can add presets on my NDX2 but they still have the exclamation mark and won’t play.
I have found that if I press the exclamation mark it will bring up a menu that allows me to play the album. So, not a solution but a workaround. No use on the front panel of course.
Suggest you email support at Naim HQ, with the details. It won’t be picked up here.
Support will appreciate details of NDX2, actual firmware version number + details of control point - looks like iOS, with details, iOS v no. + app v no. See post following - Tidal is not affected, so likely a Qobuz issue, perhaps a link has changed somewhere.
No doubt the albums are listed under the “album” heading, so perfectly feasible to play Qobuz albums.
Only iRadio on presets here, but adding an Album in Qobuz as favourite, shows on Naim iOS app under albums, but selecting as preset, not listed / showing.
Tidal by contrast, select album as per Qobuz and then selecting for presets, it does add!
Hope that helps.
Just adding to the data my nd5xs2 is using qobuz presets fine. I did just discover that me having to re-add my server folder to my asset upnp has disconnected it from my playlist so I’m going to have to re-do them.
I was speaking with my Naim dealer today. He said that they had the same problem with the presets on the Nova. Naim have apparently identified the problem and found the fix, which will be in a future update. No delivery date given!
Yip, email from name support the other day confirming software update required. Something to do with Qobuz server refresh. Strange the rest of the world seems okay!
Mine did not work and then a few days later they did! I think I unplugged my mains block at the wall socket and also took the IEC connector out of the NDX2 in-between mind you (for those who do not know, this is often an effective way of resetting many audio/AV equipment).
