That’s great news, very exciting. Seems like we have been on similar paths - I just recently moved from a SuperUniti to an ex-dem SN3 and new NDX2 (about 2 weeks or so ago). They are in the process of running in, but difference already is very noticeable. Good luck -

My local Audio T hand-delivering an NDX2 on Friday. Really great service. Can’t wait!

The TT2 is the sweet spot, one might even say ‘PRaT’. I paired a ND5 XS2 with my TT2 - a nice combination.
Currently on Allo DigiOneSig (just arrived) with Mutec into the TT2 since the DAC in the ND5 was redundant.

They’re best!

Stephen you’ll really enjoy it but be prepared to give the NDX2/SN3 up to 8 or 9 months to come on song, I got mine along with new Naca5 last Sept and it’s only in the last month or so that’s really begun to shine, it’s really rather good now and quite analogue sounding and that’s without any psu.

Oh, come on - get real. If something takes that long to “come on song” it’s simply bad and you’re adjusting to it.

Thanks Hollow. I’m really loving the SN3, it’s everything and more that i could of ever hoped for. I can’t wait for the NDX 2 now. That should be me done for quite a while. Happy Listening!

You will wake up one morning with XPSDR niggling the old grey matter

Not at all, and I’m fairly cynical about these things, it’s very tangible

Sorry, I’ve been around Naim since 1984 and the idea of a piece of gear taking 8 or 9 months to burn in properly is ludicrous. Julian would have laughed. And did.

Any change over that long a period is to your ear/brain, not the gear (unless defective).

Stephen, an update, be prepared to give your brain 8 or 9 months to adjust to the NDX2/SN3 :slightly_smiling_face:

Quite. A couple of weeks is about it, maybe a month. I’ve had Naim since 1983 - beat you by a year!!

9 months? Really?

So what’s going on then? It does seem a long time to be fair but it’s definitely not just cognitive or my imagination. I had a friend over last night who’s a sound engineer, he hadent heard my system since Xmas and couldn’t believe the change. I really notice a difference with radio stations, there are a few I listen to regularly that are only 128k and initially they were screechy and really fatiguing, now they’re completely different, a lot mellower with much improved bottom end, maybe it was the new Naca5

How do Naim develop and evaluate anything, if they have to wait 9 months to hear what their latest piece of kit actually sounds like?

No company could ever develop anything and wouldn’t know what improvement or otherwise, changing components and circuits make.

Furthermore, Naim don’t say to wait 9 months for it to sound any good :grinning:

I’ve found it takes a few weeks to come on to about 75% of potential, but there is certainly another step up at around 9 months - this has been the case with all my Naim gear.
