I have a few tracks on a USB plugged into the front panel of my NDX2.
I would like them to play consecutively. They currently only play one track at a time, then I have to select the next track for it to play.
Is there some way to make them play consecutively rather than one at a time?
I can’t queue them or “play next” etc as there is no such option.
Is there a setting or am I just doing things wrong or expecting something that doesn’t happen?
I think I have found out something; the first 3 tracks on my USB are HD 96khz and the remaining tracks are 44khz.
The 96khz tracks only play one at a time.
When I reached a track in 44khz the following tracks are playing in sequence.
Anyone else experienced this?
Are you playing them through the Server Icon, or USB icon?
USB icon.
It seems odd to me.
More a workaround than a solution, but accessing the music from the Server input > Local Music so that you can browse by metadata is much easier than using the USB input.
Thanks for the tip - I’ll give it a try
Put them all in the same folder on the USB drive and use Server mode. All of my music is on the USB drive (600 CDs) and that works fine.
Thanks for the tip
It shouldn’t matter which folders you have on a USB drive, as in Server mode, the Naim device will search all files it finds, extract the metadata and present the music it find in the usual Artists/Album type categories.
Mine are already in Artists/Album/MusicFiles order but whatever you have should work also
I just have some favourite tracks all in the root folder and all play fine in server mode.
It took me awhile to find them having to navigate to the particular drive rather than my NAS drive, which I’ve never done before.
The reason for me doing this is just to compare the sound between the NAS drive and a USB directly plugged in.
I plan to sit down and have a proper listen and compare. On casual listening, there’s no difference.
Thanks for everyone’s input.
I must admit I couldn’t hear a difference
