Just seen Neil Sedaka, has died at the age of 86. A big part of my family’s listening during the 60’s who can’t forget Oh! Carol, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do and Laughter In The Rain among many others.
Wonderful singer songwriter, r.i.p Neil.
Actually really like the stuff he did with 10cc at Strawberry Studios.
Solitaire was my parents favourite.
Great songs and unique voice.
Legend.
I remember going to a concert of his in London in a lovely theatre ( some where near the Thames) in the late 70’s
Elton John had just resurrected Neil’s career funding a great album
Although his music was a bit “soft “ for me it was a great concert and he was fantastic on the piano
He had some great songs
God rest his soul
Yep another legend gone
Another name gone. That said, I can’t remember ever putting on a record of his!
I don’t own any of Neils albums as such, but have him on numerous compilation CD’s.
In my youth he seemed to be always playing on the radio, wrote some great songs and helped a lot of fellow artistes, another legend gone.
I remember him being on British TV a lot during the mid to late 70s. Very popular at the time, deservedly so. RIP.
Neil Sedaka was an icon of popular music. His delivery was rather too saccharin for me but he certainly wrote some great songs.
Thats a great song, Its hard to choose an all-time fave, Love Will Keep Us Together sung by Captain & Tennille is up there, and I didn’t realize the original version was recorded in the UK with 10cc, thanks @mikehughescq for the info.
