I would suggest that you just restart the streamer they try the update again.
If the update fails consistently you may need to get Naim support involved, but after a one-off comms failure there’s every chance that it’ll work next time.

On another thread a chap had the same error. The fix was to start the process again but this time right click the installation file and run as administrator.

Only the stramer?
I would not be problem to interrupt the process?
It was the second step… first was, if can remember correctly - firmware update, what is stoped normaly, after reboot upload and then stoped…

Yep, but there the guy can not reach the fw file… please check my and him screen difference.

- restarted the stramer
- Aborted the update program
- Turned off the defender and nod32
- Started the updater program as admin.
- Started the process (no avail at beginning the updater said 4.9 fw is on the streamer)
Ended correctly

For my part everything went well, just had to install the drivers otherwise the Naim ND5xs was not recognized on the Windows PC, then everything went perfectly; thank you Naim for this quick solution

Just did mine (NDS) and had a local power cut right in the midst of the process. Talk about bad timing!
Anyway I started again when the power came on and it is all fine. Sweaty moment though.

In fact you can always start again with a firmware update of one of the old green screen streamers as the firmware to interact with the update program is fixed in the boot software which is not affected by a firmware update.
