New AssetUPnP R2024-08-07 Released

Posted the following on the Asset forum, as suggested, just FYI for anyone here also having issues. (Also noticed a few other issues mentioned by others on the Asset forum… and saw that there already seems to be a new beta which fixes certain things).

Here are the details I posted:

Asset R2024-8-7 issues… M2 Mac Mini (Sonoma 14.6.1)… streaming to 3 different Naim Uniti components.

R2024-8-7 seems to download fine from the Asset Configure screen. But clicking “Update ready” doesn’t do anything.

I made 2 other attempts:

  1. Downloading directly from my Asset Registration Retrieval page and installing over the old version. This seemed to work in that it proceeded to scan the library… but upon completion:
-it is off by a couple of hundred (missing) tracks
-When viewing the library in the Naim app, most Artist and Album artwork is missing
-When attempting to play an album, it will simply cycle through the track titles without playing anything.

  2. A complete fresh install (deleting both the Asset app and dBpoweramp folder beforehand) results in the same issues listed above.

I have reverted to my backed up previous version (R2023-05-15 and configuration data) and all works normally.

Stupid question have you tried going into asset advanced settings and deleting the folder your telling it to source from and then adding it back?

Somehow asset complete forgot my source folder the day after the update. Also my naim now sees to identically named servers (this happened before the folder vanishing) I can’t get rid of the second entry because it doesn’t exist according to my asset files.

The problem has just been posted on the dBpoweramp Asset forum, its not been answered yet, so I advise wait for that.

Yes, when I did the clean install, I reset the source folder, browse tree, etc.

@JohnT21 , there is a response to your Asset forum post ……

Please try updated beta version:
Various Mac OS specific regressions from R2024-8-7 have been fixed.

Yup… thanks… saw that a bit earlier today. I’m not too keen on using betas, but I’m glad to see the issues are being corrected. I will update when things are finalized… For now, I’m fine sticking with the previous version.

Still having similar issues with R2024-09-23… will investigate further this weekend, but this is definitely not the same easy experience I’ve had with any previous updates in recent years.

Hi John, my Asset for Synology is working OK
I’m not familiar with Mac/Apple, I hope the guru’s at Illustrate can help you out.

Second try got it to work (via fresh install, not from the app configure window)… and it sees my whole library. But much of the album artwork is still not displaying in the Naim app (all artwork is embedded)…

To be continued…
