New Naim Radio stations plus a radio upgrade for all Naim streaming systems

Hi,

The BBC 320kbit ‘HD’ streams are UK only and the BBC’s system returns a 404 (file not found) if accessed outside of the UK. To see if you can get the stream click this url:
http://stream.live.vc.bbcmedia.co.uk/bbc_radio_three_hd

If outside the uk then this url should work (128kbit hls/aac):
http://stream.live.vc.bbcmedia.co.uk/bbc_radio_three

I believe Ireland have had the hd streams blocked for quite a while.

Correct.

I tried to use a DNS proxy service, for a while, to provide access to the 320kbit versions of R3 and R4, but these stopped working also.

Just have to wait for BBC Radio to recommence the FLAC trial of R3, and add that back into Roon. Meanwhile the Archers just has to be in 128kbit!

It was available up until Sunday last, anyway, not a biggy, the 128 sounds fine

Question: I listen a lot to Naim Jazz; let’s say 12h a day. I’ve the impression that it’s a recurring playlist, although mixed. Also the rest of the family start recognising some tracks. Is this correct? How big is the library?

Hi Kurt. The Naim Records team tell me there are currently more than 560 tracks on the playlist - that’s more than 52 hours of music in a changing mix. More archive tracks are being added, as well as new releases as they are launched. Thanks for listening!

Thanks for the response. This corresponds to my observations. There’re a couple of tracks I don’t like at all, and I noticed they came back after some time.
Anyway, great initiative. Thanks for that!
