I’ve lived with Rega Elas for a number of years and derived much pleasure from tne combo but would like to experience a fuller bass foward sound? Considering Wharfedale Linton vs Qacoustic 5050 or at a higher budget PMC Prodigy floorstanders vs Whafedale Super Lintons. Any advice, observations appreciated as speaker auditions with my amps almost impossible!
Try the Dali oberon 5 . I use a pair with a hc/62/140. Excellent speakers for the price. Depends on room size.
Maybe look at pre-loved Epos ES14’s
Perfect partner for 72-HC-140
Good luck

I’ve been happy with Epos ES 14’s, Ruark Talisman 2’s and Linn Keilidh’s with my 72/HC/140. Epos has best midrange - just as fast as the Ela’s, but is very fussy on room. Good deep bass, but “inverse” upper bass dip - which makes them neutral with a pre cirkus LP12. Talisman 2’s are great all rounders - much smoother treble than the 14’s, but mids not as good (though still great) (super fluid mids are really the 14’s party trick). Keilidhs are good all rounders - You want the Kustone stands. Any of the above can be found for £200 or so a pair s/h and match well with the 140, as does Celestion A1’s (great mids, more balanced than Epos 14’s, but not quite as fast). For a bit more money, and some setting up, you can get Allaes or SBLs. Make sure your source is up to it though!
I ran mine with EPOS ES11’s for a long time. A bit base light but terrific midrange. For a short while they drove a pair of Neat Motive SE2’s (currently on the end of an SN2) which filled out the base whilst maintatining the rest. Currently my olives are driving a pair of Neat Iotas in a second system. They work a treat though there really is no bass to speak of and they can sound a bit ‘thin’. Great timing mid and trebble though. When auditioning we did try adding an RLE sub (can’t remember the model but it was very compact) and that really helped. I would look at the current Neat range - they work really well with Naim amplification for me.
Allae are excellent with 72/HiCap/140 if they fit your room size. They produce deep bass, but if the room doesn’t suit them, the bass can flourish.
