Big enjoyment beckons! I don’t know the Holo DAC (I use a Qutest) but it’s garnered some good reviews and should lead to a really enjoyable system for the type of music you enjoy.
A couple points: I hope you have included suitable stands in the system, the Harbeths will certainly benefit. And be aware the sound of the N50 will probably change over the first few weeks of ownership, filling out and maturing over time as mine did.
Thanks! Would you mind elaborating a little bit on what it would mean to set it up “properly“? I’m relatively new to this hi-fi world. Still learning every day.
I believe @PeakMan has taken the words out of my mouth. In essence, put your kit on a decent rack, speaker stands, speaker and sub positioning and where you’ll sit relative the speakers. Plenty of stuff on this forum if you search it out. If you bought your kit from a dealer they can advise.
I find the Cyan preferable, a good step up. More natural, bigger, cleaner, more dynamic.\
I do love the Qutest mind, it’s excellent.
Congrats naimgame, I’m sure the new system will be excellent. Just be aware that the Cyan is sticky on the USB and i2s inputs (ie. it won’t switch away from them). Be sure to experiment with what you prefer. I was using i2s (cheap cable) with my Red and have switched back to the AES now.
I just received the N50 today and hooked it up. Even though I’m downsizing from a high-end separates system, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It sounded even better than I expected. Considering. I am using a Blusound Node nano for streaming and DAC it still sounded fantastic.
I didn’t know what to expect since I was spoiled by my previous high-end system. I found myself listening to songs in a whole new way and hearing things I never heard before in my set list.
I ordered a Holo Cyan 2 DAC which is coming Monday. I’m very excited to hear the system with this source.
I’ll keep y’all posted once I have a chance to hear it with the better DAC.
I’ve heard the BluSound Node and Qutest DAC through a Nait 50 feeding Harbeth P3ESR , it is a very good combination.
If and when I move , I will use my Naim UnitiQute and a Node together as an alternative to my Naim streamer which will be used for a headphone system
