Hey folks, I’m new here I just bought my first Naim product, a unitiqute 2, I replaced a nelson pass designed pre/power combo as I wanted something more modern for streaming and it’s easier for my wife to use as well.
So far I love the amp! It’s got much more power than I thought it would have, I have some nice DIY 2 way speakers I’m using it with, sound quality is excellent.
I did have a couple of questions, I think my unit is ex demo, when I loaded the phone app it asked me to register so I put my details in and it gave me a doc with 2 year warranty on it, is this correct?
Also is the upnp easy to setup? I am planning on making a little music server, I’ll use this, a CD transport input, an analog input for my phono amplifier and finally my TV

Welcome Bart. It’s a great bit of kit, the UQ2 - I use one in my office and it probably is the most used piece of Naim in the whole house. I use a Naim Core music server in the main system and the UQ2 streams from this very well.
The UQ2 is getting on in years now and was discontinued in 2017 so I would reckon that any factory or distributor warranty is long gone. You should ask your retailer what warranty they are offering on it, as any warranty contract is between you and them.

Welcome Bart! You’ll find a friendly and knowledgeable community here.
You have chosen wisely. Like Richard, I’m a long time UQ owner - both UQ1s and 2s. Highly doubt the warranty part, but yes - ask the retailer.
As for the UPnP server setup - yes, very easy. I run a Synology DS124 with it on Asset UPnP. It’s part of the dBpoweramp suite of all things digital. Download, install on your NAS, point it to the music folder, and you’re ready to go.
If you have any issues, there’s a number of threads on the topic. Just use the search function for either asset, upnp, nas, or the like. And if still needing help, just post here and some kind soul will come to the rescue as always. Good luck, and welcome again!

Do you have a copy of the manual? Many of the question people ask here about how to set up Naim equipment are covered - if you didn’t get a paper copy in the box it’s easily found online as a downloadable pdf. It’s not an entertaining read, but it does cover most of what you need to know. Of course you can still ask questions here if there’s anything that isn’t clear.
As regards this being an “ex demo” unit, that seems a bit far fetched given that it is going to be between 8 and 12 years old. I would suggest that you contact Naim and ask them of there is any known service history - they will have a record if you tell them the serial number.
Thanks guys, I got the upnp working, it’s pretty slick
