It’s a good translation and thanks for your first impressions. I look forward to hearing how it pairs with the NAP250. I am waiting for an Atom HE and currently have a Nova with 250DR. I intend to use the 250DR with the Atom HE and run the Nova without a power amp in future

Do you find these bright on the treble at all ? I have read online that they can sound bright but most likely is the amp being used.
I will be waiting for your feedback also!
Would love to know how the pair go against the Nova.
Very interesting to hear that!
In terms of headphones I assume not as a pre??
MG is not at all brilliant, very balanced on the contrary, the high is just right.
I understood the whole report be focused on headphone usage, yes.
(Report on pre is promised.)
I would also love to know if: ((HE+250>Nova+250)Headphone AND (HE+250>Nova+250)Preamp) OR ((HE+250>Nova+250)Headphone AND (HE+250<Nova+250)Preamp)?
And at the risk of repeating myself (Many times, many times) there has been a global shortage of chips .
I’m dying to hear @registle impressions. I’m hoping to upgrade from a UnitiQute 2 to an Atom. If the pre-amp of the HE is better than an Atom, it’s a no-brainer for me as I already have a NAP100. The headphone part is less important, but a nice extra.
May have been covered earlier, but do we think that the Uniti Atom is where Naim will stop with the HE variants
Star HE?
Nova HE?
Feels like they’d be very niche - and I think the Headphone element wouldn’t change much, so for pure Headphone use I’m not sure what would be the benefit - but maybe a way to update those products anyway - so a V2 in all but name, but with extra headphone beans.
Interesting question. I could see why Naim might make a Star HE for people who want to play CDs and listen to them on headphones, but I am not sure there would be enough demand to justify this, so see this as being highly unlikely. However, if enough people ask for a Star HE or Nova HE, maybe they will, but then again, so far Naim has not reacted to the clamouring for a 272 replacement and released something along those lines.
Additional power supply has always been a major upgrade with Naim. I really doubt the HE can beat a 272 with an xps or 555.
Of course I think the HE won’t beat the 272 with an XPSDR (what I have) but if it could already equal the 272 alone would already be fine!
Naim are clearly making strides in the area of quality preamp as part of a multi-function unit and if the HE headphone advances can also be incorporated, should make the 272/2 a stunner
I enjoy listening headphones, as well as radio, cassette and vinyl. I’m using naim 272 and planning to upgrade either 252 or 552. So how can I add uniti atom HE to the system. I wish there was an extra rca input next to the din input on power amps like nap 100.
Simple, you just need a 2 x RCA to 5 pin DIN cable. RCA both ends would also be fine, as the 272, 252 and 552 all have this option, although it’s generally best to stick with DIN where possible.
Thank you for the answer. That will work if I only use the headphone amp section. I’ll probably get 252 as an upgrade and everything connected to it. But how can I use uniti atom HE as a dac with nap 300 ?
In that case you would need to have a pair of RCA to XLR cables made up. You could have the cables that were supplied with the 300 re-terminated with RCAs for the Atom HE. That does seem like a rather unbalanced system, though, in both senses of the word!
