A casualty of a recent tornado, a mature oak with hardly any leaves on (to create a substantial wind resistance) but the powerful gust did not need any help.

Even as a non photographer I found her life story compelling.
Her work is interesting too.

I hadn’t seen that video nor did I go swimming below the beach below. I bet that was lovely. I was first there over twenty years ago now and I did do a very quick sketch of the adjacent rising headlands. Sitting long enough for my partner to have a coffee and then to head back I image for lunch in the town. I had this impression of what Capri might be like because of Gracie Fields (I’m of an age!) but the reality was charming and gentle rather than gentile. I have been back several times and have enjoyed it each time.
