Well this was shot at Old Warden airfield, near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire. Kites though are all over Beds., Cambs., Northants, Lincs. and Rutland.
Camera was Eos r5ii with rf 100-500. Can’t remember settings but shooting into the sky with sun in front of you means you have to allow for blue sky and dark subject, or bright subject with white sky and then edit to suit. I was already shooting the former…
Very much like how you have kept the shutter speed down.
The light on the second is gorgeous.

Are they SOOC ?
Nah. Not a chance. Shooting into cloudy sky rarely gives you that luxury. I have to shoot bright and darken the skies.

For comparison, while the above shots are prepared for printing, this is SOOC…Apart from direct conversion to jpeg (without any correction so it looks a bit flat), as forum can’t accept CRAW.

Thats a very cool image, an image that many folk would be very happy to have printed, framed and hung on their wall. But you have shown in the other pictures that with careful application of post processing techniques the quality of the image can be raised further still.

The Prodigal ring returns…
My wife lost the ring in the garden last August and was hiding under a leaf by one of the Rhodendrens. Many hours were spent searching, including with the use of a metal detector, but without success. It just goes to show “things happen in their appropriate time.”
Joy returns after a period of mourning the loss of a cherished item.
