Nice. I follow the yootoob videos of Keith Cooper (Northlight Images). One of his favourite shots (and he has it as a background to his videos) is taken from just on the other side of the door.

I think I’m going to have to pay a visit myself

I’m not sure I have tried that picture since owning a digital camera. I remember trying to get it right when Kodak Recording Film was in vogue.

Even harder is trying to find a quiet time when every camera owner in the area is trying to emulate F H Evans!

An abiding memory was being distracted from picture taking when we had booked tickets for a concert. They were rehearsing Spem in Alium in the Chapter House. The public were wandering in and out between the singers in the round. The sound was mesmerising, for me better than the main event.

…I tried many years ago, having been captivated by the delicate tones of the sepia images of F H Evans image, and failed - my version of ‘Sea of Steps’ was nothing like his beautiful image…

He took wonderful portraits, beautifully toned images.

(Less well known is that he was a Microscopist)

You will realise I am a long time admirer of his work, and indeed this could be posted on the Photography Influences and Inspiration thread (now closed)…

Early morning beach walks to avoid the high temperatures we have had over the last few days, thankfully we have a nice cooling breeze today.

Nowhere near the same league as yours but they reminded me of this mechanic who was strumming and singing outside his garage in Stoke Newington.

After a very warm day climbing Dun da Ghaoithe, the only Corbett on the isle of Mull, I returned to my tent to witness this spectacle. Sunset illuminating Ben More, the only Munro on Mull.

An excellent end to a fantastic day.

Cheers,

Hi,
Yes Bilbao, the Guggenheim museum.
We were in Northern Spain: La Coruna and then Santiago de Compostela. We liked it so much we decided to go back a few weeks later and use Bilbao as our base to visit the city and other Bask areas: Getxo, Portugalete, San Sebastián, Biarritz and St Jean de Luz. Amazing places with stunning food.
The number of Michelin rated restaurants in these areas is mind blowing. Only there for a long weekend, but we crammed so much in.
Highly recommended place to visit.
