On the 252, has you settled RCA. Maybe it’s still DIN? It happened to me several years ago. There is something to do on your remote.
Connect the RCA cable between the DAC RCAs & the CD input RCAs on the 252.
With your remote in “pre” mode - press & hold the “prog” button until the volume knob LED flashes.
Press & hold remote button “1” until the CD source button flashes 3 times (if it only flashes once, press & hold button number “1” again until the CD button flashes 3 times).
Press & hold the “prog” button until the volume knob LED stops flashing.
Now select the CD source button on the front panel.

Thank you all. I feel so ignorant. This is my first experience with this DAC/252 combo.
I really do think the RCAs on the 252 are the issue. Before I send it off to Naim to have a look, would a dual RCA to 5-pin DIN cable theoretically work from the QBD76 to one of the 252’s DIN sockets? I know those work.
Yes, RCA to DIN is an option.
OMG! It works!
I have confirmed that the RCA ‘CD’ inputs do not work, so I tried programming the AUX2 RCAs and it works. I have sound. Glorious sound!!!
My apologies to everyone for being so thick about this. I had assumed the AUX2 was already programmed. I also had no idea how to correctly connect this, obviously.
Thank you @NigelA10 , @NeilS , @Richard.Dane , @frenchrooster , @sihctr , @NO-QUARTER and @frenchrooster !!! This is why I love this forum. I appreciate you guys.
Happy for you
Thank you for getting me to thinking about this. The logic escaped me. I owe you one big time!
Excellent, now, does it sound better than the bare NDX2?![]()
Thank you @Hifi-dog and @CrazyRiver as well.
I’ll have to wait a couple of hours when everyone’s out of the house.
Good result!
Happy to help - enjoy.

Just another reason I love this forum! Glad to hear you have it sorted now.
Glad to know that everything now works. One of the RCA inputs on my 282 doesn’t work with the Chord QBD76. I have always used a DIN to RCA interconnect between the 282 and QBD76. Sometimes when there is no sound, turn the DAC off and on again.
I now use balanced.XLR cables between the Chord and Gryphon amp.
Good to know. I ordered a DIN-RCA cable just as a backup.
Off topic, but @ryder , what do you personally use for the RAM buffer and phase switch settings? This is such a lovely DAC. Thanks again all.
I have the RAM buffer set to 0Buff (no buffering) and the phase switch to ‘POV’ (positive). When I switched between the settings for both RAM buffer and phase switch several years ago with the old system, I don’t think I heard a difference. Perhaps I’ll try a different setting in the current system to see if there will be a difference in sound quality.
That’s exactly how I have it. I changed the phase to ‘NEG’ and I honestly cannot hear a difference. It’s kinda like when I had dual subs and tried figuring out the phase on those…couldn’t really tell there, either. I messed with MAX on buffering, as I read many peoples’ experiences was an audible solidity and refinement, but I wasn’t too convinced, so put it back to 0. Anyway, thank you.
That’s a great BNC/BNC cable btw!
The Boomslang? Yes it is!
