I was lucky to get some really nice used Fraim at a considerable cost saving over new. I don’t generally like buying used and much prefer new but in the case of a rack there’s nothing hidden. You can see exactly what you’re getting. I could have got some new Fraim Lite at similar cost which may well have been OK still but obviously not as good. I’ll be building it tomorrow, which is not my ideal way to spend a Sunday but no pain no gain. The review I read in Hi-Fi Critic said to “set aside an hour” for building. I think they got that wrong. It should have said “set aside an hour for opening the boxes, unpacking and reading instructions. Then allow half a day to build it”.

You only get out what you put in.
I’m sure you did the very right thing and yes the rack is the only preused bit of kit I owned.
But it got blasted back to metal and recoated better than new.
I’m sure you won’t miss an inch.
Make it enjoyable and reap the rewards.
Concentrate.

I have paid the full amount for another new Fraim rack a couple of weeks ago. My dealer said that usual turn around is anything from 5 to 6 weeks, so a bit early for me to call it yet. I’ve had my other Fraim for over 5 years and it has been a great rack, rock solid.

This new rack is primarily for my Solstice turntable, NPX TT, and NVC TT. There will be a spare shelf and i haven’t decided what i’m going to use that for, may just leave it gapped between phono-stage/PSU and turntable.

Hello. After a six-month wait, my dealer has finally received my Naim Fraim. When I placed the order, I was told that only the Black Ash finish was available. I had wanted to order a Cherry Naim Fraim. I started assembling the Naim Fraim Base in Ash Black. When I opened the first Naim Fraim Level, I noticed that its color (Ash) did not match the color of the Naim Fraim Base or the color indicated on the box (Black Ash). The same problem occurred with the second Naim Fraim Level. Why such a long wait (6 months)? Why not allow the customer to order a specific color when other colors are available in production? How could such an error go unnoticed? I also received the NPX 300 I had ordered—timed to arrive alongside my Naim Fraim—as that provided the necessary space to use the NPX 300. I wrote an email to my distributor to explain the situation. However, I am surprised by the sales policy of the Naim distributor in France. Kinds regards.

It is frustrating. I wanna order Ash Black with black leg color but was told only can order through fixed catalogue and the leg can only be in silver color!!!???

We 100% need answer!!! This is not okay to treat customer when it comes to selection wise. When pressed for reason my dealer is clueless as Naim don’t communicate well.

Wow, this all seems a sad state of affairs. When I had my double Fraim rack (brain/brawn, black/black with four levels each, plus Fraimlite toppers) I could order anything, including replacement parts of anything: glass, platforms, metal hardware, etc. I moved on for other reasons, but this seems to confirm I made the right choice for logistics alone. And if it’s bad in the UK, it’s surely even worse for us in the U.S. dealing with FNA.

Yes this seems to continue the poor support of the dealer network that has gone on for some time now. If you treat your dealers (and effectively through them your end customers) like this you shouldn’t be suprised when your revenue declines 3 years in a row.

I love the products, love the history, but this nonsense is just too much.

I think it’s Fuyao, right? By the way, Land Rover’s quality is already pretty terrible, and it’s been owned by Tata since 2008

Pilkington was acquired by Japan’s NSG Group in 2006 and has been Japanese-owned ever since.

Hi @JosquinDesPrez

It seems that in England, since Naim is distributed directly, there are no limitations regarding color selection, and lead times are reasonable—barring any material supply issues.
In France, where I live, Focal distributes Naim.

The U.S. distributor is Focal-Naim, not a third party.
