No wireless access points found Uniti Atom

I am the owner of three NAIM devices; Uniti Nova, Uniti Atom HE and Uniti Atom.

The Nova and Atom HE can connect without problems to my router, wired and wireless no problems.

The Atom only connects wired, the wireless connection doesn’t work.

When I disconnect the ethernet cable and I search for access points it says no access points found, from my other devices I know it should at least display all the available networks, there are many in the air where I live (flat)

I did try factory reset, run the installation wizard and so on, but the wireless mode is not able to find any network in the air …

My suspicion is that the wifi module is broken. There is nothing wrong with my router, the other devices connect perfectly wireless and I am close to the router.

Some advice, I need the wireless connection with the Atom

SW 3.8.4.5453 / OS Version 3.8.4.1484

When you did the factory reset did you then restart your router? If not, give it a try.
Log into the router and see if the Atom appears on the list of devices which have been allocated an IP address. Alternatively an app such as Net Analyzer will scan your network and show you what is connected.

Nothing to do with my router. The other Naim units also pick up other wifi networks besides my own wifi network, the Atom is not finding any network, no access points found.

Before you can connect it should be in the list of discovered networks, that list is empty. Factory reset , name it … no access points found

Your router does everything in terms of routing traffic. They all occasionally need restarting to clear their caches.

Did a restart of my router. I live in a flat there are many wifi networks in the air. It should at least find the networks, it must be a hardware problem. The other units find the wifi networks and are showing a list of available wifi networks, this unit shows none, no acces points found. Same location in the house.

In which case, best to refer the issue to your Naim dealer. If the unit is indeed faulty, then all repairs have to be booked through a dealer, regardless of where purchased.
In the meantime perhaps you could take the unit to a friend, to try and connect to their network, otherwise that is likely the first thing a dealer would do, with a check to a different network.

Or set a mobile phone as a hotspot just to check network detection.

It is not finding any network, also not my phone in hotspot mode

I’d go back to the dealer.

The Atom that can’t find WiFi is running a much older BSL1&2 SW version Does anyone know of this BSL is related to WiFi. Al the other programs are on the same version as on my functioning Atom HE.

Can anyone with a Uniti Atom check on which Host BSL1 & BSL2 version he is on the Atom? Screenshot would be nice Thx

Happy to help if I can. Where would I find this information.?

Thank you! I have the same Build Version as you but apparently something went wrong during firmware upgrade. BSL1&2 are not on the same recent version as yours even our units have the same Build Version. Mine is on a much older BSL version. These BSL is responsible for initialising hardware at startup, my unit can’t wifi, this might be the reason.

I wonder if there is a USB file firmware update available - call to support or your dealer should answer this

I mailed support and I have a ticket number now. Did send them both screenshots let’s see what the response will be.

Received a link to the latest firmware and the instructions for the manual firmware upgrade.
Manual upgrade was successful however BSL1&2 version numbers did stay the same so probly this is hardware related.

No luck after upgrade, still no access points found. Conclusion is it must be hardware problem.

I might use WiFi-bridge to connect it via Ethernet to my WiFi network. Will be cheaper than a repair.
